SHARK WEEK!
Brook Lapping / The Discovery Channel

SHARK WEEK has been running for 22 years and averages 25 million viewers. As one of its regular composers Joel scored its recent main features: *"OCEAN OF FEAR"*, "SHARKBITE SUMMER" and "BLOOD IN THE WATER". Narrated by Richard Dreyfuss, "Ocean of Fear" tells the gripping story of the USS Indianapolis, sunk by Japanese torpedoes in the Philippine Sea on the night of July 30, 1945. Of the 1,196-man crew, about 900 sailors, many maimed and burned, were plunged into the water ... and floated helplessly for four days, beset by hunger, driven mad by thirst and menaced by hundreds of sharks. Assisted by George Burgess, America's foremost investigator of shark attacks, Ocean of Fear examines why the sharks attacked the way they did, and investigates the survival strategies of the men in the water. Filmed with real sharks. Drama "BLOOD IN THE WATER" brings to life the true story that inspired Jaws. Over 12 days in 1916 five people off New Jersey were attacked by sharks, triggering nationwide panic. It was the first multiple shark attack in American history and led to the myth of shark as fearsome maneater. Discovery UK broadcast the revised version retitled SHARK RAMPAGE 1916 on 30 August.
